Hello!!
We have been proud alpaca owners since December 1, 2013. Our herd has quickly grown from 5 alpacas to 16. We have fallen in love with these gentle, curious, adorable creatures. We announced our farm's name as a surprise to our dad for his birthday. His towing company is HillBilly Services and he is often referred to as "Hillbilly." He is also very proud of the rolling hills he has created on the farm, hence the name Hill Billy Hills. Thank you for visiting our blog!

Sunflower
Sunflower is fawn colored 3 yr old Suri alpaca, DOB 9/7/2010. She is the daughter of our very own Oakleigh and her sire is Suri Tannar Lane. Sunflower looks just like her mommy, but a little taller and fuller. She is a sweetheart and very photogenic!

Kallista
Meet Keba's Kallista! She is our blue eyed 14 year old white suri, DOB 10/3/1999. As the oldest female, she is definitely the leader of the pack. Kallista loves to eat.... She is the first in at dinner time and comes running if she sees a treat. Alpacas make a humming sound, but when upset, Kallista makes sounds similar to E.T. or some other extra terrestrial creature! When on the harness she is a sweetheart and the kids love taking her for walks! Our blue eyed beauty!

In the beginning......
Our love for alpacas started on December 1, 2013 when we got 5 female suri alpacas from Crownstone Alpacas; Kallista, Oakleigh, Sunflower, Harley, and Nikki. Unlike the fluffy teddy bear look of the huacaya alpaca, the fiber of the suri alpaca has a shiny luster and grows in long twists that fall along the body. The girls adjusted quickly to their new home but it took Susannah (our mule) a little bit longer to accept that they were staying! The kids absolutely love feeding the alpacas treats and taking them for walks. Although they do not really like to be touched, they are very friendly and curious.
Susannah, these are the girls....
Oh wait, it's just time for treats!

Here are a few pictures of the alpacas to hold you over! Over the next few weeks we plan to introduce you to each and every one of our 16 alpacas so prepare yourself for the cuteness!
